About Honey Land Apiaries
Our mission is to team up with with our bees to produce and market the wonderful raw, organic tasty, quality products, while respecting tradition and practices.
We started beekeeping as a pure hobby and for the love of the bees. We started with 2 hives. As time went on, and as we started to split the strong overwintered colonies in the spring so that our bees do not feel overcrowded in the hives and decide to leave. With every split our hobby grew and years passed our hobby grew into business.
Together with our bees we shared everything, the good and bad. There were many successful moments, but also failures and bad years in which we could not even cover the expenses on the apiary. However, we didn’t give up, aware that luck might be waiting for us tomorrow.
We used to lean over for hours over the hive and watch their happy buzzing and the the life in front of the hive
We slowly gained immunity to their stings, which gave us the confidence that we can do more and do better.
Our hobby started 2013 when we purchased 2 packages of bees and two hives.
It was a very successful year because we had one hive extremely strong and we ended up splitting the hive in the middle of the summer while the other hive gave us few frames of surplus honey. That we kept for us as our very own crop for the first time.
Today we have over 60 beehives.
